2014 Interns

  • Tyler Nylen - Ministry Coordinator

    Cedarville University studying Youth Ministry

I’m from Rockford, Illinois. I’m 21 years old, finishing up my undergraduate degree in Youth Ministry and Christian Education at Cedarville University this May, and attending North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois this fall. Some of my passions in life include discovering great music, jamming out to Taylor Swift whenever possible, watching Chicago sports, and enjoying the wonders that are Chick-fil-A and Chipotle. Oh yeah, and laughing. I really like laughing. Aside from seeing the Chicago Cubs win the World Series, my dream for the future is to be a local church pastor in an urban, community developing church, dedicated to being an advocate for the poor, the voiceless, and the oppressed. Home base for me is Romans 8, for here we truly see that nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Excited to see what God has in store for Indianapolis this summer!

  • Ashley Haack - Intern

Indiana State University studying Psychology and Criminal Justice

I really enjoy basketball, being active, reading, and spending time outdoors. Something interesting about myself is that I spent a summer studying abroad in London, England and I'm also slowly but surely learning to play the guitar. I'm honestly not sure what I want to do in the future, all I really know is that I want to give back to the community and help people. I have a strong passion for social justice and maybe someday I'll be working to give a voice to those fighting for life and freedom or maybe I'll be coaching middle or high school basketball or working in an inner city with at-risk youth. I'm not really sure, but I'm excited to see where God takes me.

  • Kendra Weber - Intern

University of Evansville studying Athletic Training

My hobbies are running, swimming, spending time with friends, and occasionally reading. Something interesting about me is that I once ate a cricket (on purpose). A dream that I have is to one day have a family and to be a compassionate and caring physical therapist and be able to positively impact those that I come into contact with.

  • Cristina Hodge - Intern

Mount Vernon Nazarene University studying Social Work

Hobbies- writing, reading, hanging with friends, walking and or biking

Interesting fact- I went to Give Kids the World to serve for a week with my class this past spring break

Dream for the Future- to one day open up my own Equine therapy center

  • Mikayla Conway - Intern

    Indiana University studying Biochemistry

My favorite thing to do when I'm not busy is to curl up on the couch with a blanket and a good book or movie. An interesting thing about me is that I was once dared at church camp to eat a cicada...and I did! My dreams for the future include becoming an OB/GYN; I would like to have a practice in the states, but also want to go on mission trips in impoverished countries and bring satisfactory health care to them. I also want to partner or create an organization that counsels and educates women who have lost a baby or are experiencing grief over a former decision to abort.

  • Mariah Curtis - Intern

    Cedarville University studying Early Education

I have grown up in Massachusetts all my life. I attend Cedarville University in Ohio and I will graduate in May 2015. I am studying Early Childhood Education at school. I will be doing my student teaching overseas in the Dominican Republic next spring, which I am super excited for. Some of my hobbies include: going to the beach, playing with babies, traveling, baking, writing letters, and spending time with people. Something interesting about me is that I scream for pretty much any occasion in my life! A dream that I have for the future is to teach overseas and to teach in the inner-city (both of which I hope come true)!
