2017 Interns

  • Alexis Jones - Intern

I am a junior social work major at Ball State University. I enjoy reading, writing, game nights, and adventuring with my friends. I thrive off of all types of coffee, cloud watching, Pinterest, and music by Mat Kearney. When I’m at home, I spend my time hanging out with my friends, leading middle school small groups at my home church, and volunteering wherever I can. At school, when I’m not in class or working, I share life with a great group of people at a church that God has blessed me with in Muncie. There, I serve as a youth group sponsor and attend a weekly bible study. I look forward to serving God’s Kingdom this summer with Mission Indy, and experiencing all God has planned for me.

  • Bailey Pitcher - Intern

I grew up in rural south-central Illinois and am currently a sophomore at Cedarville University. I am the oldest of 5 kids all homeschooled. You can often catch me playing the piano or guitar, swimming, reading, running around with my siblings, or watching STL Cardinals baseball. At CU, I am majoring in Nursing and minoring in Bible and Cross-Cultural Nursing. Since I was pretty young, my heart has been in missions and I plan to one day do medical mission work. I don’t yet know exactly where God will place me, but for now I enjoy taking short-term mission trips and learning all I can about missions. I’m so excited to intern with Mission Indy to work with you to become the hands and feet of Jesus and equip Christians to serve others.

  • Courtney Bonness - Intern

I am an undergraduate student at Purdue University in the College of Liberal Arts, majoring in both English and Professional Writing, as well as minoring in Philosophy. I am still exploring my options following graduation; however I am interested in a career concerning internal journalism for a non-profit or research organization, particularly one with a focus in international development and community engagement. I love writing, hiking, singing (poorly), dancing (even more poorly), eating any and all chocolate, running (short distances), drinking lots of coffee, and finding adventure in the normal. I am excited to see how God uses this summer with Mission Indy and the work He is aready doing in the communities I will be interacting with.

  • Ellen Bankston - Intern

I am a senior studying Public Health with concentrations in Behavioral Social Sciences and Epidemiology. I enjoy hiking, rollerblading and hammocking and just generally spending time outside. I also love live music and anything crafty. At school, I work as a barista and lead the Bible study in my sorority. After college, I hope to work with underserved populations in some capacity.

  • Marina konow - intern

I am a junior at IUPUI studying journalism with a double minor in sociology and history. I am originally from Fort Wayne, IN, and attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church. I run cross country and track at IUPUI, and enjoy hanging out with my friends. I love hanging out with family and friends, and drinking lots of coffee. I have been on a couple mission trips, so Iam so excited to see what my experience at Mission Indy brings. I am grateful the Lord led me to Mission Indy, and I very much look forward to bringing my passion for Christ and writing together this summer!
