The Ministry Coordinator has two distinct and parallel roles over the course of the summer. First, the M.C. will work alongside the Director of Training to:

1) Connect with the church or ministry where each Vacation Bible School Program will take place on 3 or 4 different weeks of the summer.

2) Connect with the Church Group who will help lead each VBS, and

3) Connect with the Summer interns (two each VBS week) who will teach the lessons and lead.

4) This person will be the 'point person' and director at each VBS and will mentor and support the Summer Interns on Site.

Secondly, the Ministry Coordinator will coordinate, help and encourage the other Summer Interns during the planning and preparing for things like Sunday Night Games, Orientation and Power Up - three key programs the Summer Interns are responsible for. Along with the above, this person will coordinate the various tasks and duties the Summer Interns must accomplish during the Mission Indy weeks.

Media Coordinator This internship is 9 weeks in length. This position is for a student skilled and interested in shooting and editing photos and video. You must be out of high school a minimum of one year.

These are multi-faceted, paid internships providing:

  • Opportunities to lead and encourage church groups
  • Hands-on ministry in an area that interns are passionate about, with one of Mission Indy's partner ministries or agencies.
  • Framework for Spiritual Growth as Mission Indy staff intenitonally pours into and disciples each intern.
  • The pay off has been big, judging by the testimonies received from former interns and watching them mature in their faith and walk.

The summer begins with a relaxed retreat weekend, and then two weeks of intensive training. During these two weeks interns gain practical skills training, in-depth discussions on the nature of the Body of Christ, and how Christians should respond to current issues. The interns then spend the next 8 weeks alternating between leading church groups and working with assigned ministries. The summer ends with a debrief session that reflects on all that has been learned and experienced. Mission Indy's prayer is for interns to continue to grow spiritually and increase their love for the church.
