2004 Annual Report
From the Executive Director:

There are many blessings to celebrate from the events of 2004 as Mission Indy continues to: Equip Christians to Serve Others.

The year began with a Celebration Banquet on January 31st that still brings excitement and good memories to mind. Close to 150 people were part of the evening that was very encouraging, in spite of the cold and snowy weather. The celebration was for three years of full time ministry.

The banquet was hosted by Englewood CC and we are very thankful for their continued partnership in the work Mission Indy is called to do. Everyone appreciated the gymnastic talents of the Acrobatic team from Jireh Sports as they entertained us, even with the constraint of the low ceilings. Speakers included a veteran MI youth group leader, former summer staff, board members and other participants, as well as a recipient of the service by Mission Indy volunteers.

Tammy Murrell from Lincoln Christian College spent January through May working with Niccole and Ron while learning about the workings of a non-profit ministry. Tammy took a short break in mid-May, and then returned as a part of the great Summer Staff. She was joined in late May by seven other college students. God really blessed us with the best! Working with college-age interns has turned out to become perhaps the most important work Mission Indy is involved in. The ten weeks that the sutdents spend with Mission Indy allows time to really equip them for leadership and service, and their reports back to us are that Mission Indy changes their lives. For that, we are humbled and grateful.

Many of you may recall that Mission Indy has been privileged to facilitate a cooperative effort of the Indianapolis Area Christian Churches called Indidanpolis Urban Initiative. A Pilot Project begain in September 2003 to build a home for a family connected to Jireh Sports and Common Ground Christian Church. That home was ready in May for Jean Scott and her family to move in, and Mission Indy was privileged to host and Open House on May 9th. Our prayer is that 2005 will find these churches in cooperative partnerships in the work of Jesus.

The summer of 2004 was both awesome and, at the same time, a real challenge (see below). We are very thankful for each of the four church host sites, and their many volunteers who fed us so well. In October, we were blessed with a gorgeous day for the 2nd Annual Mission Indy Walk. Walkers included five of the eight Summer Saff as well as people from ten different churches! It was great fun to walk and talk about the ministry that the Lord gives us through Mission Indy.

Finally, the Board of Directors has some new faces and talents for leading Mission Indy into the future. We welcomed Chris Spanburg, Julie Plake, Joe Gaafar, and Ron Terry to the board, and sadly said goodby to Mike Erickson and Jason Berkholz. Thanks to all who serve in Jesus' name!

2003 Income
Total Income $167,246

Summer Financials
Due to a shortfall in Summer Program Participants, there was a $20,00 less in total income than planned for. Expenses were controlled as much as possible, so the dollar shorfall was kept to around $10,000 for the summer. Due to the generosity of a couple of churches and several individuals, the year ended on a good note, and with a positive bank balance and cash flow. We praise God for working in the was He did and for how our faith grew!

New Evaluation Process
As many of you know from the October Newsletter, we understand a big responsibility to continually evaluate whether programs and methods achieve the results we are called towards. Board member Chris Spanburg's work to develop an evaluation process has proven to be exceptionally valuable to us. The data shows there is a positive change in the attitudes and actions of young people who participate in the Mission Indy Program.

Thank you for your faithful support!
